| WELCOME
|
We are proud to be different and offer our driving instructor training in such a way that should work out much cheaper than with other companies and with a 100% pass rate our system clearly works well. Unlike other companies we offer 2 training courses, the first on how to become an instructor, and the second on how you run or improve your own business (you are welcome to take our second course even if you trained elsewhere). The details of both courses are shown below but should you have any questions then please email them to me at bookings@residential-intensive-driving-courses.co.uk How to become a driving instructor To be able to train to become a driving instructor you must be able to say yes to the following
Having said yes then you must pass the following 3 exams Part 1 - Theory plus Hazard Perception Test cost £80 100 multiple choice questions. The questions are in four categories, you must get 80% in each of the categories, with an overall mark of 85%. The hazard perception test is very like the test that a learner driver takes but with a much higher pass mark. Part 2 - Driving Ability Test cost £99 A driving test that looks for a very high standard of driving and lasts for 1 hour. You are allowed 6 minor faults. This standard is above the advanced driving test. Part 3 - Teaching Ability Test cost £99 The examiner acts as a pupil. For the first part of the test you will be asked to teach him or her as a novice pupil. The second half of the test you will be asked to teach him or her as a trained pupil expected to be around the standard for taking the driving test. What We Offer Part 1 - The most cost effective option for this is to study the DSA publication ‘Driving’ and some of the many cd-rom hazard perception discs before taking your test. I would also recommend ordering a set of question papers from somewhere like www.d-ss.co.uk. Some companies will offer training for this but why pay when you can do this so cheaply at home? Part 2 - With part one safely out of the way you now require professional help to look at your standard of driving as you have probably picked up some bad habits since passing your driving test. We charge by the hour or can offer a short course to cover this, then after a short spell of practice you will be ready to pass this part. Part 3 - Again you will almost certainly need professional help to point you in the right direction for this, and again this can be covered in hourly lesson or with a short course. Lots of people choose to do this in a longer course together with part 2, but I would recommend coming back after some practice on your own (we will explain how) before taking part 3 as this will reduce the amount of instruction you will need from us. What To Do Next My suggestion is to do part 1 and after this is passed then book some time with us, but contact the various companies you may have short listed to plan for part 2 as you get close to taking the part 1 test. You can book your tests online at www.dsa.gov.uk However should you want any more information now please do not hesitate to contact us.How To Run Or Improve Your Own Business Lots of instructors struggle to earn money when they have first qualified and can make some costly mistakes without even realising it. Our course will reduce the chances of this happening as well as helping to save you money on such things as vehicle costs, breakdown cover, advertising, and telephone answering personnel. It will also help you get your image and pricing right from the word go! If you already have a business but want to improve it we can open your eyes to some great ideas, here are just a few:
You will probably save more in the first year than this course will cost you so what have you got to lose? Remember too that it is 100% tax deductible!
